Amorphus was created at the end of 2020 / beginning of 2021 in a feeling of dissatisfaction with how politics and society deal with reliable knowledge. It was difficult for me to bear how urgent problems are initially awaited and then treated way too late and only symptomatically without the offer of sustainable perspective. However, at the same time I persisted in my own inaction and rested on the parts of Amorphus that had already been written, hoping that the piece would somehow work itself out in the end. This said, Amorphus evolved into a potpourri of new and old ideas, some of which date back to 2018. Motivated by the challenge of not only writing the music alone, but also playing all the instruments myself, I still managed to finish the piece instrumentally at some point. Ilja, Nils and I then wrote the lyrics together and in the end I ended up performing also all the vocals myself. The Amorphus experiment was a success. And although I learned a lot for myself during this time and am really content with the result, I think that maybe some experiments shouldn't be repeated.

This album is overwhelmingly good. I've been making music for long enough and listened to too much music to not be impressed easily. This album is goosebumps from beginning till end. Completely different realm of existence of good. minerva
